Milk Bath Birthday Portraits with Laura in Delaware

I would love it if you joined me in the Smyrna Delaware location for this at home photo session. I met up with Laura for her little one’s first birthday, she wanted to recreate her milk bath maternity portraits! So here we are one year later, same milk bath, now with her baby in the milk bath with her.

He had so much fun flirting with the camera and playing with the flowers. And I had the best time behind the lens snapping portraits of this momma and son duo. There is just nothing like hopping in a tub for milk bath maternity portraits. Or placing yourself outside in nature to capture the beauty of motherhood.

It was also so touching to add some breastfeeding portraits in with these milk bath birthday portraits too. You can feel the bond these two share together through the photos.

They were both absolute rock stars during the session and we were all smiling big time during their milk bath birthday portraits.

So what’s the best way to achieve a beautiful milk bath for your portraits?

Be sure to use warm or hot water to fill the bathtub. Once the water is filled to the level you want, add your milk! Then you want to let your bath rest for a few minutes. After that you can start with the fun part! Add in the flowers. A pro tip for you all! If you leave some of the flower’s stems on, it’ll help them float better in an upright position.

And then you are ready to capture the memories.

It’s such a surreal feeling watching my friends and clients-turned-friends go through big life stages and having the honor to photograph it all for them.

It makes me so very emotional to sit back and watch them shine.
