Ethereal Portraits in Smyrna Delaware
I am always in the mood for some wonderful ethereal portraits, especially when they double as birthday portraits! If you’ve been here before you probably know my good friend Kass. She’s the beautiful face behind KASH Collections, an original art and gift shop located here in Delaware.
So when she reached out to me with the idea for these ethereal portraits for her birthday I was so ready to bring them to life!
Birthday portraits are such a beautiful way to celebrate yourself and document your life. It’s a great way to treat yourself while honoring where you are in this moment in time. And it’s a visual diary of the way you change as you get older! It’s truly a privilege to evolve as the years go by and learn more and more about ourselves! I encourage my friends and clients to be intentional about the aesthetic and vibe you chose for your portraits. After all, you can chose to portray any facet of yourself through your portraits. Whether that is a more glam approach and you want to take the opportunity to dress to the nines. Or maybe you gravitate more towards a cottagecore vibe like Kass’ ethereal portraits! Whatever feel speaks to you for your portraits, go for it!

For example, Kass shared with me that she wanted an ethereal, woodsy vibe. So to achieve that we took advantage of our surroundings and used some fun on theme props! We grabbed a wooden stool, a bright bouquet with some beautiful large flowers and some greenery, and white blanket as our props. And Kass picked this beautiful cream colored tulle dress that fit the theme! Doing so not only added in some interesting aspects to the photos but it helped us get editorial and creative.
Plus it was so fun to set everything up and watch the vision come to life!
But this isn’t the only way to add a fun aspect to your portraits! Another favorite of mine is by choosing a fun location. Are you a huge Disney fan?
