Proposal Portraits in Shenandoah National Park
These Proposal Portraits in Shenandoah National Park were such a good time!
This beautiful national park is only 75 miles away from Washington, D.C. It’s a land bursting with cascading waterfalls, spectacular vistas, fields of wildflowers, and quiet wooded hollows. Not to mention the over 200,000 acres of protected lands that are home to deer, songbirds, and black bears.
There’s so much to explore and as these proposal portraits prove, it’s the perfect spot to pop the question.
It really is a small world after all. Abby reached out to me to let me know that her and her boyfriend were going on a vacation to Shenandoah National Park in Virginia and were interested in getting portraits taken there since she knew I travel for photography.
Abby lives in Delaware like me, and way back when we went to the same K-12 school together. Back in middle school we were actually pretty great friends and hung out all the time. It’s so neat to see everything come full circle. I love how photography allows me to reconnect with old friends. And even more so that I can help capture the special moments for them.
So I hopped in my car, made the 4 hour drive to the gorgeous park, and got ready to shoot some magic.
Then David sneakily let me know he was planning on proposing. I was STOKED to get the gorgeous mountains and nature involved in their proposal portraits. And I’m just as stoked to share it with all of you!
If you are thinking of proposing to your partner and want to make the moment extra special, hire a photographer. Not only will it be a romantic surprise in the moment, but you’ll have the portraits to show your loved ones and future children.
It’s a no brainer!
