Outdoor Ballet Photoshoot in Cambridge Maryland
I grew up taking dance. For 13 years I did everything from ballet to tap to jazz, and I loved the artistry and community behind it all. And if you were also a dance class kid, you know first hand how much work and dedication goes into this particular art form. Someone who I know for sure is aware of the grueling work that it takes is my cousin Mady! That’s right folks, this is another photoshoot where I get to work with family! She and I met up in Cambridge Maryland for this outdoor ballet photoshoot. And it was such a blast to get to be nostalgic for the day.
One of the best parts of being a trained dancer is that you never lose what you learn during your time dancing. You carry it with you forever.
Mady specializes in pointe technique where the dancer supports all their weight on the tips of their fully extended feet. While I grew up in dance classes, this was my first time doing a ballet photoshoot. And we had the best time.
So should you take your own ballet photoshoot? Or a photoshoot that displays your special skills, whatever they may be?
The answer to that is a resounding YES! Not only because you work hard at your craft and should have it frozen in time to remember forever. But because you don’t need any other reason to get portraits that you love done! So grab your favorite dance outfit, or your skateboard, or your guitar, or hiking gear and meet me at your favorite spot with my camera in tow. After all, I am your friendly traveling photographer that is ready to capture you at your best in your happy place.
That’s what we did here.
And I absolutely loved taking this ballet photoshoot outside of the studio and around nature.
Wherever that place is for you, I’m ready!
